All students are placed in class by age, experience, and/or level.
Please contact the studio for class days/times that will suit your dancer best.

Ballet
Ballet is the base for all disciplines of dance. Students learn technique. Technique is learning correct posture, body placement, improving the arch in your feet, arm positions, weight shift, and discipline. Ballet also gives a dancer muscular strengthening, building of cardiovascular stamina, and increased flexibility. Ballet develops grace and mentors students to develop skills of determination and agility and helps to build self-confidence.

Tap
Tap dancing is a fun style of dance that anyone can learn regardless of any dance experience. Tap dancing is beneficial in many ways. Basics of tap include increasing cardiovascular conditioning, strength and coordination. Tap builds strength in legs and feet in addition to increasing flexibility in the hips, knees and ankles. Cognitive ability are also enhanced. A tap dancer must develop both mental and muscular memory to become proficient at tap dancing. Tap also develops a great sense of rhythm and timing. Our tap instructors gel students focus on music awareness while incorporating tap steps and combinations.

Jazz
Jazz dancing is a type of dancing that is energetic and fun. Consisting of unique moves, fancy foot work, big leaps, and quick turns. To excel in jazz, dancers need to have a strong background in ballet, as it encourages grace and balance.

Acrobatics
Acrobatics promotes flexibility and strength. Floor tumbling and stationary tricks allow students to gain endurance. Acrobatic training gives a performance of balance, agility, and motor coordination.

Hip Hop
Hip Hop dancing is a vibrant form of dance that combines a variety of freestyle movements to create a cultural piece of art.

Pre-Dance
The pre-dance program at Jane’s School of Dance offers your 2 or 3 year old: 
– an opportunity to develop social skills
– practice separating from parents
– the ability to build trust for teachers which will facilitate a smooth transition into school
– gross motor development and coordination
– the development of listening skills and the ability to follow directions
– and the joy of telling stories with music through dance

Summer Dance Programs
Registration will open June 1st for the Summer Intensive. Specific Days/Times TBD

Princess Dance Party meets once a week during the Summer Intensive.
There are 2 sessions available: Pre-School for ages 2 and Kinderdance for ages 4 & 5.

Each 1 hour class will feature a Specific Princess Theme and will include: story time, a craft, song and dance, and the opportunity to take a picture with the princess of the week.

Summer Combo Classes for ages 6-9 
Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Acro.
A wonderful way for dancers to get to know all the genres of dance we offer so that they can know what they want to take the upcoming season!

Competition Team
For the Serious and Experienced Dancer that is looking for something beyond Recreational Dancing.
